Childhood Memories
I remember waking up in the morning and coming home from school everyday to the familiar kids show of Sesame Street. I absolutely loved watching it without really realizing I was learning important stuff that I would expand on in the coming years. Counting, recognizing shapes and colors, naming animals and important people, while enjoying myself. I wish all subjects nowadays could be just as fun and beneficial. However, that's not the point I am trying to get across in this math in society. The point is that I learned counting (even in Spanish) through watching various methods of teaching. Recognizing shapes was also incorporated into counting. In short, math was fun and easy to learn back then. I was able to recognize it in everyday life because of watching the show. Songs and other creative methods allow children to enjoy learning without experiencing the burden of work that they will experience later in life.
